As you may recall, the week before spring break was rather hectic, but I believe it was a way to redefine how I went about my capstone. Upon reflection, I realize I'm an artist who likes bold strokes, using a few saturated colors to define light and shadow. For example, I thoroughly love the promotional artwork Rockstar illustrates for its games, such as Red Dead Redemption and the Grand Theft Auto Franchise.
I like clean lines and defined areas of space, and since my work is based on Biblical scripture, I figured presenting such a style would reflect that of church stained glass windows. However, because it is done digitally, it allows for effects to be incorporated, unlike traditional work. Using what I had previously as a rough guide, I made the new compositional pieces below:

This illustration still retains some of its original look, with a base solid color blocked out. The numbers indicate the thickness of the stroke to capture depth.

This drawing has basic colors blocked and some stylization on the furthest right gray cow. Nearly all outlines are complete, with the exception of the sky. The sky and land elements complement the cow groups, emulating plentiful crops and famine, respectively.

This series has a vertical slice of the final look. Glow effects were added to give the effect of light "shining through the glass." The textured brush "potato" is used to, well, bring texture into the piece. The warrior will be revised upon my next meeting with my mentor as I want to ensure proper scaling and anatomy are executed effectively. A border is being considered to frame each artboard better, however remaining in the background. This was decided with the idea that the viewer still stands in the same space as the horses and feels the powerful narrative being depicted.
